Newmarket Racehorse Trainer
2007 was a good year for the stable. Although having only 17 horses to go to war with, we were victorious 13 times including a Listed winner in France. The star honours
for the year had to go to the ever-consistent Canadian Danehill who entered the winner’s circle no fewer than 6 times.
2008 is very exciting. Along with a decent selection of older horses we house some well bred and lightly raced 3 year olds. We also have our largest ever team of 9
youngsters – a mixed bag of homebreds and those bought at public auction. Click the Horses link for more information.

The Yard
The yard sends out a steady stream of winners annually from horses that are either relatively inexpensive or cast-offs.
Robert believes that most horses, once racing, tend to keep themselves reasonably fit so his job is to maintain their enthusiasm and health. His facility has a dedicated and
highly skillful team working along side him which is paramount to maintain such high standards.

Robert Cowell has a family which is steeped in history with Robert's father having owned, bred and raced horses since early 1960.
Among the best were the likes of: Shoot Clear - Excellent dual group winner and champion 2 year old. Sally Brown - Winner of Yorkshire Oaks. Untold - Winner of Fillies Mile,
Ascot at 2 and winner of Yorkshire Oaks at 3.
